Bonding & Paving of Cash Street
To the Voters and Residents of Croydon,
The Board of Selectmen would like to provide an update regarding our town's bond situation and recent street paving projects. As part of our ongoing efforts to manage the town's finances efficiently, we attempted to consolidate our three long-term loans—relating to past and future paving projects—into a single payment. This consolidation aimed to lower the overall cost and streamline our financial obligations.
However, due to rules set by the New Hampshire Municipal Bond Bank (NHMBB), we could not include the recent paving project on Cash Street in this bond. Consequently, the Selectboard has decided to fund this project through a local bank instead of the NHMBB.
This change in funding means that the start of the Cash Street paving project will be delayed. While we initially anticipated beginning sooner, we are confident that the project will commence later this year.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work through these financial adjustments to benefit our community.
Sincerely,
Amie Freak
Chair, Board of Selectmen
